the first post: easter 2013

While prepping for this Easter, I decided to tackle a few sewing projects for each of the kids' outfits.  Here are the pictures and details!

For Evangeline's dress, I used Rae's Geranium pattern.

I switched the direction of the pleats so I could add side ties, and I drafted a peter pan collar.  I made the dress in a 4T.
Cute little black buttons up the back!

I whipped up an easy bow for Evie using the free Oliver + S pattern.

For Gus, I made a tie, using this tutorial and pattern.  I also made some suspenders using red twill tape.

And for little Dexter's first Easter, I made him a pair of yellow pants (drafted my own pattern), along with a cardigan using the popular tutorial at Feather's Flights.

I also sewed a mini bow tie for him using this tutorial.  I just sewed it onto the shirt instead of making it a clip-on.

And, to be extra adventurous, I also sewed up my own Easter dress, using Rae's Washi Dress pattern.  I am happy about the way that it turned out.  I made a muslin for both the small and the medium, deciding on the small.  Next time, I will add a few inches to the length.

As I finished each project, they hung on my sewing shelf.  Here they are all together when I finally finished them up!  I think I'll start making little mini-collections like this more often!

To finish off the post, here's a sweet picture of all the kids with me in their outfits that a friend took at a recent play date!
